New Kindergarten Enrollment

Kindergarten Registration IS OPEN FOR 25-26.

• A child must be five years old on or before July 31 to be eligible for kindergarten.
  Registration is available online.
• Due to projected high enrollment numbers, voluntary transfer and option student application approvals may be limited or closed for the 25-26 and 26-27 school years.
• If you currently have a student enrolled in Kearney Public Schools you can use the Parent Portal to register your child.

Once you choose Kindergarten Registration  it will then take you through the steps to create a parent account. If you already have a ParentVue account, you will start a new registration.

ParentVUE Activation Directions

1. To start the process of activating your new account click: ParentVUE Account Activation
2. Read through the Privacy Statement.
3. Click "I Accept" (located at the bottom of the page).
4. Enter your own chosen username, secure password, and your preferred email address. Please keep your password memorized and secure.
5. Click "Complete Account Activation" to finish setting up the account. You will be transported to the ParentVUE portal.

You must activate your ParentVUE web portal account BEFORE using the ParentVUE mobile app and when going into the mobile APP for the first time you may get a screen to activate you can select Already Activated.

Mobile Device ParentVUE App:

1. Go to your iOS or Android App store.
2. Search the store for the free "ParentVUE" app by EduPoint.
3. Once you have installed the app, you can search for the district’s name by zip code (68845) from within the app.
4. Use your newly created ParentVUE account username and password (as part of the "ParentVUE Activation Directions" above) to log in and see your child′s school information through the app on your mobile device.

*After creating your ParentVue account, you can then choose “start a new registration” to register your child for kindergarten.

Map of Schools

Buying a house in a school zone does not guarantee a place in that neighborhood school. 

KPS has many schools that have grade levels that are full.  In that case, students are involuntarily transferred to a school with room. 

Please contact the KPS Enrollment Office at 698-8029 to know which grade levels are full in your neighborhood school.

• The system will tell to which school the address is assigned.  Be aware that enrollment depends on if that school has room for additional students.
