Our School

Meadowlark

Meadowlark opened in 1995 and has 3 sections of each grade. The current student population is 400+ students.  Meadowlark Elementary has several active partnerships with the University of Nebraska at Kearney and the community.  The College of Education-UNK provides many student volunteers.  Our teachers utilize the co-teaching concept in having their teacher candidates learn and work in our classrooms.  One of our goals is to provide enhancements to district curricula.  An active parent volunteer program, along with adding the WATCH D.O.G. program provides valuable student support and adult role models.  Teachers do a wonderful job of differentiating and collaborating to fit each learners’ interests & abilities. We work to teach students to be better citizens through a variety of partnerships and character education.  We strive to build strong relationships with students and families which elevates the commitment among stakeholders.   Our academics are excellent and our hearts are huge!
